About me and my mentor auction

I am a Westchester County based wedding and lifestyle photographer who shoots primarily in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. I started my career as a teacher and have transitioned into the photography world. I have been shooting for a number of years and specifically in the wedding industry for four years. Auction Includes: A 2 hour mentoring session with me where we cover anything you to help your business grow. From what I shoot, how I shoot, what my settings are, what I use to process my images, the programs I use and trust, what I use to host/upload/etc.

My mentor session can take place in my hometown of Amawalk, NY OR on the phone.

- Contest – An Iconic Gentleman

It’s a huge bone of contention with my wife… admittedly, I have been slacking more and more in our married days and she hates it. When my wife and I were first dating, I would open the car door for her every chance I could. It made me feel good… scratch that, feel like I was being a true gentleman to open the car door for her. I’m not sure what changed, but I have gotten into the habit of not doing it.

Yesterday, I was moderately embarrassed when I found out that two of my wife’s male (& VERY MARRIED, so let’s not go down that road) co-workers had opened the door for her… and she was quick to point it out to me.

I guess I need to take a page from The Brooks Brothers “How to be a Gentleman” Book…

So here’s the contest:

Happy Halloween to everyone. I hope you all watched a scary movie, ate too much candy, and took in the beautiful fall air today. I know I personally ate too many Twix.. and I am going to pay for it tomorrow when I get up to run before beginning work.

How lucky are we to live in the northeast and have such awesome weather!

No post processing.. no bumping of curves, levels, saturation, clarity… just life. Five minutes earlier or five minutes later and I would not have captured this image of the morning sun. So much is said about the evening sun being the “golden hour,” but you can create just as beautiful images in the morning as you can in the evening. The fall season in Westchester County, NY reminds me a lot of Saratoga County where I grew up. Man, I love the fall. The cool crisp mornings, the warm comforting afternoons, but really I hate that it’s so short. Blink and you miss the fall. Much like yesterday mornings sunrise..

Bonsai!!!!

My brother Zack wore soft cap… a light tan/grey hat with a bonsai tree on it. I am sure he got it from my father who got it from a friend who creates those masterful pieces of nature. I tried once and failed miserably, but that’s not the point. Each summer my brother worked in Lake George as a carriage driver on one of those horse and buggies like they have in all tourist areas. He loved the horses but hated the people… that was him.

One day Ralph Macchio, the Karate Kid himself, got on for a ride… with my brother adorning the hat. ”Nice hat” he said. Timing and irony I guess

Zack, it’s hard to believe it has been five years since you passed… I am still in awe of all of the great things you did while you were with us. You live in the front of our minds with many happy memories.
