Last Saturday, my wife and I traveled to New Haven to see her brother’s graduation. It was a beautiful day; warm with a slight breeze. You honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. The commencement speaker was none other than Richard Vermeil, but you might know him better as Dick… no, that’s not a dirty joke. Dick Vermeil was the coach portrayed by Greg Kinnear in the movie, Invincible. As always, it was nice to see my wife’s abuela. Talk about success… She and her husband bring their 2 children to the US from Puerto Rico and raised 7 more children in the Bronx. Her abuelos literally sold the farm and they now have one granddaughter who is a clinical therapist, one grandson who is an architect, and another who graduates with a music management degree!!! That’s literally the American Dream if I have ever heard one.
